Working Pattern: Permanent / Full Time / Fixed Shift Pattern

The Role

We're currently seeking a Marine Coordinator to join our dedicated team supporting the £2.5 billion Beatrice Offshore Wind Farm – one of the largest operational offshore wind farms in the UK. Located in Wick and comprising 84 turbines, Beatrice generates enough renewable energy to power over 450,000 homes. Operations and maintenance are carried out from our £12 million, state-of-the-art facility at Wick Harbour.

As a Marine Coordinator, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient coordination of offshore activities. You will be part of a close-knit team responsible for remotely monitoring and managing the 588MW site, supporting the day-to-day offshore operations.

You will

In this role, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating vessel and personnel movements to and from the offshore site, ensuring safety and operational efficiency at all times.
  • Acting as the first point of contact for emergency response, providing calm and effective leadership in critical situations.
  • Communicating with vessels and personnel through various communication systems, including VHF radio, to maintain a constant and clear operational picture.
  • Monitoring non-windfarm marine traffic in and around the site using radar, AIS, and other marine surveillance tools.
  • Managing and maintaining the offshore profile system, ensuring all personnel have the necessary certifications and competencies for offshore work.

You have

To succeed in this role, we're looking for someone with:

  • A background in the maritime industry – ideally as a Skipper, Vessel Master, or Marine Engineer – or someone with demonstrable experience in vessel operations and marine coordination.
  • Experience working within a Safe System of Work and familiarity with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) would be beneficial.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to remain composed under pressure and coordinate activities across multiple stakeholders.
  • A solid understanding of emergency response procedures – previous experience in this area is advantageous.
  • A valid VHF Radio Operator Certificate.

Due to the shift-based nature of the role, candidates must be able to commute daily (within 60 minutes) to the operations and maintenance base in Wick, and be flexible enough to provide shift cover within a small team when needed.
