Base Location: For this role, we require successful applicants to be based from one of our Scottish locations and you'll be expected to spend 50% of your working week in the office - Perth, Inverness or Aberdeen.

Salary: £58,100 - £87,100 + car/car allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available.

The role involves leading and managing a portfolio of Large Capital Projects for the SSEN Transmission business, developing substation, overhead line and cable projects ranging in value from £20m-£1b, all supporting the transition to NetZero. You will:

  • Manage a team of up to three Development Project Managers to progress the project development of your portfolio through the optioneering and initial design phases.
  • Develop, manage and report on significant development budgets (£10M and above) for your project portfolio.
  • Develop, manage and report on project programmes to maintain project milestones and develop mitigation as required where issues are encountered.
  • Undertake the role of the Client under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 and ensure the requirements are met.
  • Develop your team to provide the necessary skills and experience to meet business requirements.

You should have:

  • Strong leadership skills with experience of developing, managing and reporting on significant infrastructure projects.
  • Engineering or Project Management qualification, degree, or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015, Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and other key relevant Health, Safety and Environmental legislation.
  • Experience of the NEC3 Suite of Contracts, focusing on the Engineering and Construction and Professional Services Contracts.
  • Experience of project development through the optioneering and initial design phases, with an ability to develop the optimum project solution, deliver to timescales and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
