Base Location: Flexible Scotland | We are proud to offer a Flexible First approach to work, and this role is no exception. We will, however, need your base 'home' location to be one of our SSEN offices around Scotland, Perth, Aberdeen or Inverness.

Salary: £47,600 - £71,600 + car/car allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The role

The SSEN Transmission Asset Management team are excited to offer an opportunity for a Senior Asset Policy & Strategy Engineer to join their growing team. As a key player in this role, you will take charge of monitoring and optimising the performance of our Asset Management System. You will lead the charge in advancing our goal to become a world-class asset management organisation, while driving the development of strategies that will help us achieve our bold business objectives.

Please note this is a 12 months Fixed Term Contract role.

You will

  • Conduct audits and analysis of SSEN Transmission's Asset Management System in accordance with the ISO 55001 standard. Report findings to internal stakeholders to showcase our compliance level and identify opportunities for improvement where applicable.
  • Support the continuous improvement of SSEN Transmission's Asset Management capabilities, using feedback gained from external benchmarking activities to inform our future development.
  • Develop and implement value-add strategies for existing and new assets in Transmission's portfolio.
  • Spearhead and coordinate the development of the strategic asset management documentation including the Strategic Asset Management Plan, and Asset Lifecycle Management Strategies.
  • Support the development of investment plans that support growth, service delivery, efficiency and allows us to work towards our goal for Net Zero.

You have

  • Experience in supporting the delivery of the ISO55001 certification within an asset management organisation.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral and a proven ability to deliver high-quality technical & business documentation.
  • Experience in leading and delivering internal/external audits and the ability to demonstrate how you have delivered performance improvements to an organisation's asset management system.
  • An Institute of Asset Management qualification; or a degree in Engineering/Project Management or similar experience.
  • It is an essential requirement for this role that you have a full, current driving licence.
