Base Location: For this role, we require successful applicants to be based from one of our Scottish locations and you will be expected to spend 50% of your working week in the office - Perth, Glasgow, Inverness or Aberdeen.
Salary: £58,100 - £75,000 + car / allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances, and wellbeing.

The role: As a Regional Senior Cable Project Engineer, you will provide specialist engineering support on high profile and technically complex projects. You will be responsible for reviewing or approving designs through the development and execution phases. You will:
- Support and guide Engineers within the cable discipline, encouraging their development and contributing to a positive, collaborative team culture across the wider Transmission Engineering team.
- Use your expertise to thoughtfully review and provide constructive feedback on engineering decisions, helping projects progress with clarity and shared understanding.
- Champion best practice in cable design by offering considered improvements in specifications, technology choices and approaches to managing engineering risks.
- Foster a strong safety culture by applying CDM procedures with care, ensuring all engineering activities are carried out responsibly and in line with company, HSE and industry requirements.
- Work inclusively with Engineering Managers and Project Managers to ensure Engineering and Quality risks are clearly understood, communicated and addressed to support successful project delivery.
You have:
- A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, ideally with Chartered status or working towards it, with experience in transmission development, design or specification.
- The ability to approach complex engineering issues with balanced judgement, evaluating options thoughtfully and offering well-reasoned, collaborative solutions.
- Extensive knowledge of High Voltage Cables and experience working on the Transmission Network, with a commitment to high-quality, reliable engineering outcomes.
- A strong appreciation of legal and regulatory responsibilities in Transmission, including CDM and ESQCR, and a proactive, conscientious approach to maintaining compliance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to explain technical matters clearly and build trusting, positive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels.
