The role:
- We are seeking a Quality and Safety Inspector to join our Highland team who will take overall responsibility for inspecting work carried out by tree cutting contractors & in-house teams to ensure compliance with SSEN clearance specifications.
- Carry out site inspections on completed works and conduct on-site safety audits to ensure compliance with standards.
- Monitor contractor and in-house team performance, providing coaching and acting as the key interface between SSEN and utility arboriculture contractors.
- Manage data reporting, ensuring accurate capture and communication of inspection, safety, and performance information.
- Support planned customer interruptions and maintain effective customer liaison, ensuring clear and professional communication.
- Undertake surveying, consenting, and the preparation of associated job packs, while supporting project management activities.
You have:
- Utility arboriculture qualifications, alongside a detailed understanding of tree species and growth rates.
- A proven understanding of Microsoft Office 365 applications (including SharePoint and Excel) and strong organisational skills.
- A customer-focused approach and excellent communication skills, enabling effective stakeholder engagement.
- A strong safety focus and a commitment to maintaining high standards in all aspects of the role.
- The ability to assess, plan, and challenge a workforce, identify inefficiencies, and proactively manage your time while suggesting and implementing improvements.
- Contract management experience, this is beneficial not essential.
- A full driving licence is essential.
