Base Location: Flexible, however our preference is that you will be based in one of our key UK or Ireland sites which includes but not limited to Glasgow, Perth, Inverness or Dublin

Salary: £58,100-£87,100/ €76,100- €114,100 + car /car allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The Role

The Onshore Wind, Solar & Battery (OWSB) Development & Construction Health & Safety Manager (UK & Ireland) is a leadership role within the SSER OWSB Health & Safety Team. You will play a key role in shaping and driving a positive, proactive safety culture across our Development & Construction activities, leading a team of health and safety professionals and working closely with senior leaders to ensure the highest standards of safety, health and environmental performance. This role is central to protecting our people, contractors, assets and the environment, while supporting the successful delivery of complex renewable energy projects across the UK and Ireland.

You will

  • Provide visible safety leadership to the OWSB Development & Construction business, supporting senior management to embed SHE policies, standards and best practice.
  • Drive continuous improvement in health and safety performance through effective risk management, investigations and learning across projects.
  • Ensure robust H&S due diligence, assessments and audits are completed for businesses, partners and contractors.
  • Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team of health and safety professionals, maximising capability and performance.
  • Partner with the business to deliver behavioural safety initiatives aligned with the Safety Family Programme, ensuring clear and consistent implementation.

You have

  • A recognised professional qualification in Occupational Health & Safety or a related safety discipline.
  • Professional membership of IOSH (or equivalent), or a commitment to working towards this.
  • Experience in renewables, energy, large-construction or similar high-hazard environment, with strong transferable skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • The ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, demanding environment with competing priorities.
