The predicted salary is between 42600 - 64000 £ per year.

Base Location: For this role, we require successful applicants to be based in Inverness. During the construction phase, you are expected to be based at our site location for five days per week. The location is Spittal, near Wick.

Salary: £42,600 - £64,000 + car allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family. A disturbance allowance may be payable.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Onsite 5 days a week

The role:

  • As a Site Construction Manager at SSEN Transmission, you will spearhead the construction of one of our ASTI HVDC Underground Cables Packages, ensuring strict adherence to safety, quality, and environmental standards.
  • Represent the SSEN Transmission business on-site and be the key site-based point of contact, also interfacing with contractors and key stakeholders at site.
  • Ensure all site operations align with statutory, legal, company’s Health and Safety regulations, alongside Construction (Design and Management) Regulations.
  • Collaborate closely with the appointed contractor(s) and the operations team to ensure the works are delivered to the project programme, in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.
  • Monitor compliance with planning consents and SHE legislation, maintain routine reporting and oversight of site performance against set KPIs.
  • Develop effective relationships with contractors, suppliers and the community, act as a site leader championing a positive safety culture.

You have:

  • Notable experience in on-site management or supervision working in construction, maintenance, and highways.
  • In-depth understanding of health, safety, and CDM 2015 Regulations, ideally in a utility environment.
  • Demonstrable ability to coordinate multiple contractors/subcontractors to adhere to project timelines and budgets effectively.
  • Previous experience in quality monitoring through inspection and test plans.
  • Previous experience in the utility industry with good experience of traffic management, excavation and reinstatement of trenches including temporary works.
  • Ideally some experience of trenchless solutions delivery supervision.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to challenge others along with experience in resolving conflicts and planning site activities.

Please note, a full current driving licence is essential due to the requirement to travel to and be on site.
