The Role:

Our team is growing, and a fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Hotbox Driver / Reinstator to join our Civils team in Aberdeen/Aberdeenshire. Operations are responsible for keeping the lights on; we are at the front line on the Network. If we find a fault, it is our responsibility to respond to the fault and dispatch our skilled teams to fix it as quickly as possible. We work in all hours, and through all weathers, ensuring our customers are never without power.

You will:

  • Work as part of a team in a hands-on role, operating the Hotbox and carrying out reinstatement of excavations across highways and private sites to maintain the distribution network, while always ensuring clear communication and safe working practices.
  • Undertake physically demanding reinstatement works across highways and private land.
  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions to strict timescales, ensuring all activities comply with required regulations and delivering a high standard of customer service during reactive maintenance.
  • Work closely with your manager and support ad hoc projects as required, while following the Code of Practice and helping to reduce contractor expenditure.

You have:

  • A full UK HGV driving license as this is essential for this role.
  • Experience with cable laying, excavation, reinstating techniques including Tarmac, modular services, slabs and concrete.
  • Experience of working on public highways involving setting up and taking down temporary traffic signs to the code of practice and working alongside other teams carrying out civil works.
