Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Onsite

We are looking for an experienced Civil Crafts/Tradesperson to join our team. As a craftsperson you will undertake running repairs to electrical substation buildings and enclosures. This will typically include the following activity types:

  • Painting
  • Fencing
  • Carpentry
  • Brick laying
  • Small roofing
  • Small wiring
  • Windows / glazing
  • Any other adhoc activities that will assist in the installation, repair, and upkeep of operational buildings within SSEN.

You Will

  • Plan and perform tasks such as painting, fencing, carpentry, bricklaying, small roofing/wiring, glazing, and other building upkeep activities under ESQCR regulations.
  • Carry out risk assessments and follow Lone Working Procedures; stop work if health and safety rules are breached and expedite immediate risks promptly.
  • Apply correct Health and Safety risk assessments to mitigate hazards effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations when working with external contractors and report issues to the civils compliance coordinator or team manager.
  • Represent SSE professionally, respond to enquiries, and monitor satisfaction to deliver world‑class service.

You Have

  • Proven Background in a construction trade
  • Ability to work alone
  • Good level of Health and Safety awareness
  • Excellent communication skill and ability to speak with people at all levels
  • IT skills to enable the recording and updating of all required data.
  • A full UK driving licence and flexible approach to working hours and work location is a must. Company vehicle will be provided for work duties.
