Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Onsite
We are looking for an experienced Civil Crafts/Tradesperson to join our team. As a craftsperson you will undertake running repairs to electrical substation buildings and enclosures. This will typically include the following activity types:
- Painting
- Fencing
- Carpentry
- Brick laying
- Small roofing
- Small wiring
- Windows / glazing
- Any other adhoc activities that will assist in the installation, repair, and upkeep of operational buildings within SSEN.
You Will
- Plan and perform tasks such as painting, fencing, carpentry, bricklaying, small roofing/wiring, glazing, and other building upkeep activities under ESQCR regulations.
- Carry out risk assessments and follow Lone Working Procedures; stop work if health and safety rules are breached and expedite immediate risks promptly.
- Apply correct Health and Safety risk assessments to mitigate hazards effectively.
- Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations when working with external contractors and report issues to the civils compliance coordinator or team manager.
- Represent SSE professionally, respond to enquiries, and monitor satisfaction to deliver world‑class service.
You Have
- Proven Background in a construction trade
- Ability to work alone
- Good level of Health and Safety awareness
- Excellent communication skill and ability to speak with people at all levels
- IT skills to enable the recording and updating of all required data.
- A full UK driving licence and flexible approach to working hours and work location is a must. Company vehicle will be provided for work duties.
