Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time, 37 hours
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Substation Inspector to join our team! As a Substation Inspector you will be responsible for carrying out the routine safety and condition inspections of our Distribution Assets, covering all plant types and voltages associated with the Distribution Network. In addition to conducting inspections, you will also be responsible for vegetation clearance activities across various conditions and weather. This is a two-part role: during the first 6 months you’ll focus on ground maintenance and substation clearance, and for the following 6 months you’ll shift to substation inspections.
You Will Be:
- Carry out inspections of equipment at substation sites and ensure sites are cleared of vegetation to allow access to the site and equipment at all times.
- Gather accurate information to ensure we comply with health and safety regulations and document it in accordance with required standards, methods and procedures.
- Identify potential faults with the distribution network and follow the escalation process to get resource to site whilst being committed to working safely at all times.
- This is predominately a lone working role, and you must be self‑motivated and driven to meet the tight deadlines where you will identify and implement innovative and effective business improvements.
You Will Have:
- An understanding of a Distribution Network Operations (DNO) business.
- An understanding of the ESQC Regulations.
- Safety is one of our key priorities, so you should have the ability to risk assess activities throughout your working day and to work within our Health and Safety guidelines.
- An understanding of the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations.
- Asbestos and confined space awareness.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- As there is a requirement to travel to various locations, a full driving licence is therefore essential.
