The predicted salary is between 60000 - 75000 £ per year.

Base Location: You'll be expected to spend 50% of your working week in one of the following base locations: Glasgow, Perth, Aberdeen, Inverness, Swindon, Melksham, Andover, Oxford, Portsmouth, Reading, Slough, Basingstoke, Poole, New Forest, Thatcham, West London or Aldershot/Petersfield.

Role: The Senior Change Manager plays a pivotal role in the successful delivery of our strategic transformation portfolio. This is a unique opportunity to play a central role in a high‑profile, complex programme that is transforming how we serve our customers. You’ll help embed agile ways of working, enhance operational effectiveness, and build the digital capability required for SSE’s future. Working closely with experienced delivery teams and senior stakeholders across the business, you will also actively lead and apply our change methodology, ensuring change is effectively delivered, adopted, and sustained.

Responsibilities:

  • Shaping and delivering comprehensive change plans for major Distribution transformation programmes by aligning tech, business, and change teams.
  • Conducting detailed impact assessments, stakeholder analysis, and readiness reviews to develop integrated, audience‑specific transition paths across all organisational levels to guarantee smooth adoption.
  • Coordinating and aligning change, communications, and training activities into a unified timeline to ensure colleague readiness and targeted transformation outcomes.
  • Defining and monitoring key adoption metrics and KPIs directly tied to long‑term business benefit delivery.
  • Building rigorous go‑live and hyper‑care frameworks, embedding strict governance into business‑as‑usual to permanently secure technical efficiency and cultural evolution.

Travel to various sites will be required.

Qualifications:

  • Proven ability in delivering large and complex change and benefits realisation in a large and complex organisation, preferably in Energy/Utilities or other regulated environments.
  • Experience in delivering significant change to dispersed operational teams, preferably Field Engineer workforce/Field Services and support functions.
  • Knowledge of delivering Organisational Transformation and new Target Operating Models enabled by culture and technology change.
  • The ability to lead and develop change teams and effectively coordinate and collaborate with Change, Communications & Engagement, Readiness and Training resources and activities to deliver high quality embedded change.
  • Significant capability in building strong relationships and influencing stakeholders in programmes with 1k+ impacted colleagues, managing expectations and balancing varying degrees of capability and maturity to bring people on the journey.
