Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for financial insight and business performance? We are looking for a dynamic and commercially astute FP&A Manager to join our team and help shape the financial future of our SSE Thermal business.

About the role
As FP&A Manager responsible for Capital Investment and Joint Ventures, you\\\’ll lead a small team of FP&A Accountants and play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality financial planning, analysis, and reporting. You\\\’ll work closely with the Head of FP&A and Business Partners to provide strategic insight, challenge assumptions, and support decision-making across the SSE Thermal business.
You will
- Lead the delivery of monthly management reporting, forecasts, budgets, and long-term plans (5-10 years) for Capital Expenditure and Joint Ventures.
- Provide financial insight and challenge to senior stakeholders, including Operational Directors and drive performance improvement through robust analysis, variance reviews, and scenario planning.
- Support strategic business planning and facilitating workshops with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure the integrity of financial models and control environments.
- Contribute to key projects such as acquisitions, disposals, and cost-saving initiatives.
We\\\’re looking for someone who combines technical excellence with strong leadership and communication skills
- A fully qualified accountant (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with 5+ years post-qualification experience in a business-facing finance role.
- Skilled in interpreting complex data and translating it into actionable insight with proficiency in Excel and financial systems (Oracle experience desirable).
- Confident in engaging with senior stakeholders and influencing strategic decisions.
- Experienced in managing multiple priorities and leading high-performing teams.
- Commercially aware, with a strong understanding of energy market-facing assets.
