Base Location: You'll be expected to spend 50% of your working week in one of the following locations Aberdeen, Perth or Inverness.

The role We’re looking for a Forestry Liaison Specialist to join our Networks team, providing advice and management of third‑party requests across timber harvesting and forestry activities impacting our network. In this varied and hands‑on role, you’ll act as the key link between forestry stakeholders and the business, ensuring safe, efficient delivery of harvesting activities while maintaining and improving network resilience.

You will:

  • Provide expert, consultative advice on timber harvesting and forestry management activities impacting overhead and underground networks.
  • Act as the single point of contact for Forestry & Land Scotland (FLS), private landowners and stakeholders, coordinating third‑party harvesting requests.
  • Manage live line harvesting, hand cutting and direct timber harvesting programmes to ensure safe and efficient delivery.
  • Carry out safety‑critical amber zone assessments and approve work methods to minimise risk to the network.
  • Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders to align forestry activities with planned network work programmes and improve resilience.

You have:

  • Strong experience within forestry, arboriculture, or utility vegetation management, ideally within a network environment.
  • A good knowledge of relevant safety standards (e.g. FISA 804, HSE GS6) and network safety procedures.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders, including contractors, landowners, and external agencies.
  • Experience in project management, including planning, scheduling and delivering safety‑critical works.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to coordinate complex activities and drive compliance and performance.
