We are looking for an experienced Civil Craftsperson to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- As a craftsperson you will undertake running repairs to electrical substation buildings and enclosures. This will typically include the following activity types: painting, fencing, carpentry, bricklaying, small roofing, small wiring, windows/glazing and any other adhoc activities that will assist in the installation, repair, and upkeep of operational buildings within SSEN.
- Plan and perform tasks such as painting, fencing, carpentry, bricklaying, small roofing/wiring, glazing, and other building upkeep activities under ESQCR regulations.
- Carry out risk assessments and follow Lone Working Procedures; stop work if health and safety rules are breached and raise immediate risks promptly.
- Apply correct Health and Safety risk assessments to mitigate hazards effectively.
- Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations when working with external contractors and report issues to the civils compliance coordinator or team manager.
- Represent SSE professionally, respond to enquiries, and monitor satisfaction to deliver worldâclass service.
You Have:
- Proven background in a construction trade.
- Ability to work alone.
- A good level of Health and Safety awareness.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to speak with people at all levels.
- IT skills to enable the recording and updating of all required data.
- A full UK driving licence and flexible approach to working hours and work location is a must. Company vehicle will be provided for work duties.
