Salary: ÂŁ34,749 - ÂŁ40,939 + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time

We are looking for an experienced Civil Craftsperson to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • As a craftsperson you will undertake running repairs to electrical substation buildings and enclosures. This will typically include the following activity types: painting, fencing, carpentry, bricklaying, small roofing, small wiring, windows/glazing and any other adhoc activities that will assist in the installation, repair, and upkeep of operational buildings within SSEN.
  • Plan and perform tasks such as painting, fencing, carpentry, bricklaying, small roofing/wiring, glazing, and other building upkeep activities under ESQCR regulations.
  • Carry out risk assessments and follow Lone Working Procedures; stop work if health and safety rules are breached and raise immediate risks promptly.
  • Apply correct Health and Safety risk assessments to mitigate hazards effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations when working with external contractors and report issues to the civils compliance coordinator or team manager.
  • Represent SSE professionally, respond to enquiries, and monitor satisfaction to deliver world‐class service.

You Have:

  • Proven background in a construction trade.
  • Ability to work alone.
  • A good level of Health and Safety awareness.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to speak with people at all levels.
  • IT skills to enable the recording and updating of all required data.
  • A full UK driving licence and flexible approach to working hours and work location is a must. Company vehicle will be provided for work duties.
