About the Role
We have a vacancy for a Support Worker based in West Lothian. As a key worker we expect you to establish positive relationships and offer practical and emotional support. You will be responsible for completing support plans and risk assessments with the people who use our services, who experience severe and enduring mental health problems. The service is a Care Inspectorate registered service, this means you will have to work in line with regulatory standards, maintain accurate records and follow agreed policies and procedures to ensure high quality support. The role will include providing housing support, assisting individuals to maintain their tenancies, promote independence and support development of independent living skills, and manage risks while promoting choice, dignity and wellbeing.
What we are looking for
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a mature and caring attitude and possess excellent listening and communication skills. Experience of working in the field of mental health or social care is desirable but not essential, as full induction will be given. Whatever your background, a flexible caring approach combined with good practical skills will be essential. Due to the wide area our service covers, access to your own transport would be beneficial. Our service currently operates Monday-Sunday you should be flexible in the hours you are available to work. Weekend and evening work is on rota basis; weekend working is currently 1 in 5 with occasional backshift 12-8, required.
