About the Role
As Assistant Management Accountant, you will work closely with experienced Finance Business Partners, supporting the delivery of financial reporting, analysis and insight, to aid decision-making and business performance. You’ll gain exposure to a broad range of financial activities. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual who is detail-focused, eager to learn, and passionate about building a career in finance within a highly visible and collaborative function. Key Responsibilities
- Deliver on key tasks to support an accurate and timely month‑end and year‑end close including but not limited to accounts production and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assist the Finance Business Partners with the preparation of weekly and monthly management reports, providing accurate financial data and analysis to support performance tracking.
- Support the translation of financial data into clear, meaningful information for non‑financial stakeholders.
- Prepare external reporting requirements such as VAT returns and Office of National Statistics returns for review by the Business Controller.
- Assist with the development and improvement of system‑based reporting, controls, and data processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
What We’re Looking For
- Studying towards (or planning to study towards) a professional accounting qualification such as CIMA, ACCA, or ACA.
- A good understanding of basic financial principles, including financial statements and KPIs.
- Proactive and inquisitive mindset with strong attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to work with both finance and non‑finance colleagues.
- Experience using Excel at an intermediate level (pivot tables, lookups etc).
- Exposure to Microsoft Dynamics, Navision, SAP or similar ERP systems is desirable but not essential.
