The job opportunity

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you’ll enjoy direct responsibility for both day-to-day and longer-term provision of electrical engineering maintenance at Dalbeattie sawmill. Specifically, this will involve:

  • Working closely with the shift teams to deliver the weekly preventative maintenance plan.
  • The provision of technical support and ongoing development of our preventative maintenance system to improve and increase plant uptime.
  • Active involvement in contractor management and small projects, as well as critical spares provision, the roll out of lean systems and ‘out of hours’ response as required.

About you

As the Engineering Supervisor, you should have relevant experience and must hold C&G 17th or 18th Edition IEE Regulations qualifications or equivalent with experience of PLC Systems, as well as:

  • Hands-on experience of electrical maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
  • Capability of applying your problem-solving skills and knowledge of continuous improvement to good effect, especially in the areas of repetitive breakdown.
  • Being computer literate and having first-rate organisation, communication and influencing skills.
  • Ability to consistently deliver when working under pressure, as well as being committed to both individual and team successes.
