The Supply Chain Coordinator will play a pivotal role in planning, administration and supply management within the BSW roundwood supply chain. This role requires expertise in supply chain management, with passion for forestry products, strong supplier relationships, and a commitment to sustainability and cost-effectiveness.
Responsibilities
- Plan and execute BSW & third-party customers roundwood delivery plans using bespoke planning systems.
- Monitor roundwood supply ensuring daily quotas are met.
- Liaise with hauliers on a daily basis regarding deliveries to the saw mills and 3rd party customers.
- Be involved in haulage tender processes for new harvesting sites.
- Track haulier deliveries and OTIF’s.
- Inform log yard teams of any delays or issues with roundwood deliveries.
- Work closely with Harvesting teams to ensure roundwood stocks are available.
- Improvise & prioritize any additional daily ad hoc situations.
- Help develop systems and processes to enhance roundwood deliveries to the mills.
- Set up and monitor roundwood supply contracts.
- Monitor quality of roundwood loads using internal scanning procedures.
- Send reports and data to suppliers and harvesting managers.
About You
Preferably you will have previous experience working in a supply chain or logistical role. You are confident working alone or alongside a team and in addition, you’ll have:
- Experience of supplier / haulier scheduling and inventory control.
- Ability to improvise and prioritize.
- Problem solving skills and ability to work under pressure in a busy work environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- The ability to cope with and deliver to deadlines.
- Good geographical knowledge.
- Good IT skills and experience of all Microsoft packages and planning software.
- Safety, environmental and commercial awareness.
- Self-motivation.
- Strong analytical, mathematical and IT skills.
- Full driving licence.
Desirable (but not essential)
- An understanding of the timber supply chain.
- Understand drivers’ hours and working time directives.
- Worked within a similar environment.
