Architectural Technician

Scott & Sampson Architects is an established practice specialising in high-end private residential architecture. We are currently seeking an experienced Architectural Technician to join our team and support the delivery of detailed technical packages across RIBA Stages 3–5.

This role would suit a proactive, detail-oriented technician with experience and knowledge of UK Building Regulations and a passion for high-quality design.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare technical drawing packages for tender and construction stages
• Produce detailed designs including sections, construction details, and specifications
• Coordinate with consultants and contractors to resolve design and site queries
• Attend site meetings as required to support Contract Administration

Requirements

• Minimum 8 years' experience in an architectural technician role, ideally within the UK residential sector
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit (or Archicad with a willingness to learn Revit)
• Excellent knowledge of UK Building Regulations and traditional construction methods
• Strong technical and detailing ability, with a good eye for buildability and construction methodologies
• Ability to work independently and manage deadlines across multiple projects

Desirable

• Experience with new-build houses, basements, and high-end refurbishments
• CIAT membership or similar.
