Your Role:
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for General Operatives to join our Manufacturing team at our York site. We offer a range of shift patterns to suit operational requirements, including day and night shifts, with an additional shift premium paid for night working.
This role will be responsible for safely and accurately manufacturing and repairing pallets/wood products using the tools and equipment provided. You will ensure that you work at an optimum level to maximise output whilst complying with customer standards and design specifications as documented in the work orders.
You will be responsible for efficient bench/machine set ups, ensuring that you have all necessary information required regarding quality standards and output levels, to enable you to carry out your role correctly and accurately. You will also need to promptly identify and report any problems with equipment to your line manager.
A General Operative is a multi-skilled role. You may also be painting/labelling/stenciling pallets, offloading lengths of timber off the saws and general cleaning and housekeeping duties to support the manufacture of pallets/wood products in a timely manner.
You will play a key part in the team to undertake all tasks that are delegated to you by the Production Supervisors and Managers on site and always adhere to our Health and Safety Procedures and Policies to maintain the required high safety standards, which includes wearing your Personal Protective Equipment when stipulated.
Working effectively with others, you will also have excellent time keeping and attendance record and demonstrate a high level of Health and Safety awareness. A can-do attitude and excellent attention to detail are key to success.
