Scott Logic is an independent software consultancy helping some of the world's most complex organisations solve hard technology problems. We work across financial services, public sector, and beyond - building high-quality, bespoke software, data, and AI solutions with small, expert teams. We offer a wide range of services, including software development, user experience (UX) design, data engineering, data visualisation, AI, and financial technology consulting. We pledge to develop high-quality software solutions tailored to meet the unique requirements of each client.
This is a hands‑on, client‑facing role, offering the opportunity to be involved in the full development lifecycle, delivering mission‑critical projects for high‑profile global organisations. You'll work in small, expert multidisciplinary teams, typically embedded with the client, navigating complex delivery challenges across software engineering, data, and AI programmes. We like our teams to have high levels of freedom and value collaboration and pragmatism.
What you will find yourself doing:
- Leading the delivery of complex technology projects for clients, taking accountability for scope, schedule, budget, and quality throughout the engagement.
- Building and maintaining strong, trust‑based client relationships — acting as a credible delivery partner at senior stakeholder level.
- Working within small, expert multidisciplinary teams, typically embedded with the client, to navigate challenging delivery environments across software engineering, data, and AI programmes.
- Taking responsibility for project financials, forecasting, and reporting to achieve targeted commercial outcomes.
- Supporting the onboarding of consultants to projects; working with line managers to assess project fit and set people up for success.
- Undertaking line management of assigned consultants, including performance feedback, annual reviews, and ongoing development conversations.
- Contributing actively to Scott Logic's delivery community — sharing lessons learned, developing toolkits, and helping shape how we deliver at scale.
What we’re looking for:
- Proven experience managing software development projects using Agile frameworks, with a solid understanding of Waterfall‑based delivery and when each is appropriate.
- Experience delivering data or AI‑enabled programmes - understanding the iterative, experiment‑led nature of these engagements and how delivery approaches may need to adapt.
- Familiarity with AI‑assisted tooling within the SDLC - such as code generation, automated testing, or delivery intelligence tools - and genuine curiosity about how these capabilities are evolving.
- Programme‑level experience, coordinating across multiple workstreams, suppliers, or delivery teams, would be advantageous.
- A track record of leading and motivating high‑performing software delivery teams, including distributed or hybrid teams.
- Experience working with or managing teams that include data engineers, data scientists, or AI and ML practitioners.
- Comfort operating in a consultancy environment - managing competing client and internal demands, contributing to business development, and representing Scott Logic professionally.
What can we give to you?
- Hybrid working and no overtime.
- Our people promise devoted to putting our people first.
- Specific holiday and leave entitlement for every circumstance.
- Social clubs and groups including but not limited to, Video/Board games, Cycling/Running clubs, Book clubs, Friday bar’s and so much more.
- An environment where ideas are welcomed and explored with detail.
