Senior Travel Consultant – Latin America
Join our specialist Latin America Team as a Senior Travel Consultant, responsible for creating and selling tailor‑made luxury holidays to discerning guests across destinations including Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, Peru, Brazil, Ecuador, Galapagos, Colombia, Uruguay, Belize, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Mexico, and Panama.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of all aspects of selling and booking holidays, including preparing written and verbal quotations and related documentation.
- Contact guests after their return to gather feedback and generate new enquiries.
- Work towards individual and team sales targets, meeting Key Performance Indicators.
- Develop product knowledge for immediate sales areas and across the Scott Dunn portfolio.
- Support marketing initiatives such as brochure production, website management, email campaigns, PR, and promotional events.
- Meet guests face‑to‑face when required.
- Learn and use all computer software applications.
- Collaborate closely with all departments and sales teams.
- Deliver excellent guest service throughout the booking process, demonstrating the core values of Scott Dunn.
Duties
- Manage the guest journey from initial contact to post‑travel and repeat travel.
- Maintain attention to detail and accuracy in all communications.
- Speak with guests over the phone, effectively listening and organising their holiday.
- Meet guests at their request.
- Use sales skills to convert enquiries into bookings.
- Respond to all enquiries efficiently and promptly.
- Handle high volumes of phone calls during peak periods.
- Manage invoices, payments, and guest details, and organise pre‑arrival information.
- Complete travel documentation within specified time frames.
- Maintain contact with guests between booking and departure, arranging concierge requirements.
- Record essential data using Scott Dunn’s IT software.
- Act on feedback or complaints swiftly, liaising with the Guest Relations Executive as necessary.
- Book flights and manage reservations through Travelport.
- Attend internal and external training courses.
- Conduct familiarisation trips abroad and present findings to teams.
- Attend trade shows and promotional events in the UK and abroad.
- Train colleagues with knowledge gained from visits.
- Account for costs and margins on each booking.
- Contribute to the team beyond standard sales and service requirements.
- Perform other duties as reasonably required by management.
Requirements
- Extensive tailor‑made travel sales experience across Latin America, preferably in luxury markets.
- Sales‑driven mindset with a focus on numbers.
- Enthusiastic and polite telephone manner.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Proven organisational skills.
- Previous experience delivering customer service of the highest standard.
