As the team continues to grow, we are looking for an organised,proactiveand professional Legal Assistant to support our Partners, Senior Associates,Associatesand wider Private Client team. Based in ourLymingtonoffice, this is an exciting opportunity to become part of a department that is committed to delivering exceptional client care and building lasting relationships with those we support.

About the role

As a Legal Assistant, you will be a valued member of our Private Client Team, providing high-quality administrative and procedural support across a broad range of matters, including Wills, Powers of Attorney, trusts,probateand estate administration. You will work closely with our Partner, Senior Associates and Associates, helping to ensure matters progress efficiently whilemaintainingthe exceptional levels of client care for which the team is known

Based in ourLymingtonoffice, you will playan important rolein supporting the day-to-day management of matters, ensuring work progresses efficiently and clients receive a professional and responsive service.

Private Client work often involves supporting individuals and families through significant life events, from planning for the future to dealing with the affairs of a loved one following bereavement. This role requires someone who combines excellent organisational skills with empathy,professionalismand discretion.

What you’ll be doing

Client support

  • Acting as a professional and welcoming first point of contact for clients.
  • Communicating confidently by telephone, email and in person.
  • Supporting client appointments, onboardingprocessesand ID checks.
  • Providing clear procedural updates and ensuring clients receive an excellent level of service throughout their matter.
  • Building positive relationships with clients and ensuring they feel supported throughout their matter.

Matter and document management

  • Preparing and organising files, document packs,correspondenceand client information.
  • Managing file opening and closing procedures.
  • Maintainingaccurate, organised and audit-ready files.
  • Tracking key deadlines, outstandingactionsand procedural requirements.
  • Ensuring documents and communications are saved and recorded correctly.
  • Supporting the preparation of probate, trust and estate administration documentation asrequired.
  • Producing documents from digital dictation and audio typing to a high standard.

Administrative support

  • Managing diaries,appointmentsand meetings for fee earners.
  • Supporting billing processes andmaintainingaccuraterecords.
  • Assistingwith document production, formatting,scanningand electronic filing.
  • Liaising with clients, financial institutions, professional advisers and third parties asrequired.
  • Helping to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of a busy and growing department

Team support

  • Working collaboratively with colleagues across the team.
  • Supportingthe fee earnersduring busy periods.
  • Sharing information clearly and effectively to keep matters progressing.
  • Contributing to a positive,professionaland supportive working environment.

About you

We are looking for someone who is highly organised, proactive and enjoys working as part of a team.

Ideally, you will have:

  • Previousexperience working in a law firm.
  • Experience within aPrivate Client, Wills,Trustsand Probate team would be an advantage.
  • Strong typing, documentproductionand administrative skills.
  • Experience of audio typing and digital dictation.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Professional communication skills and a client-focused approach.
  • Confidence using case management systems and Microsoft Office.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines

Importantly, you will also have:

  • A warm and professional approach to client care.
  • Empathy and emotional intelligence.
  • The ability to deal sensitively with clients who may be bereaved or facing difficult personal circumstances.
  • A high levelof discretion and understanding of confidentiality.
  • A strong work ethic and a proactive approach to supporting colleagues.
  • Excellent keyboard skills and the ability to produceaccurate, high-quality documents from audio dictation.
