As our new Quality Control Team Leader, you will lead the day-to-day operation of the Quality Control laboratory, ensuring the delivery of accurate and timely testing to support manufacturing activities. You'll provide technical expertise, develop and support the laboratory team, and drive high standards of quality, safety, and continuous improvement across our operations.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the day-to-day operation of the Quality Control laboratory, ensuring high standards of safety, housekeeping, compliance, and responsible care.
  • Manage laboratory equipment, including maintenance, calibration, servicing, validation, and accurate record-keeping to ensure operational readiness.
  • Support manufacturing quality by investigating non-conformances, driving right-first-time improvements, and providing technical expertise.
  • Maintain and continuously improve QC procedures, test methods, and SOPs, working closely with R&D to implement new processes, equipment, and training requirements.
  • Collaborate with HSE and Quality teams to ensure compliance, maintain risk and COSHH assessments, support audits and improvement initiatives, and deputise for the Technical & Quality Control Manager when required.

What we’re looking for:

  • Degree in Chemistry (or a related scientific discipline) or equivalent experience in a quality-focused role.
  • Previous people management or team leadership experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience collaborating across teams and with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise workloads and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
