As Materials Engineer, you will manage and execute short and long-term test programmes supporting R&D projects, customer qualification programmes and marine approvals. You will also be a key point of contact to our commercial teams and their customers providing technical support as required.
You will be a great communicator, with an ability to work with various stakeholders across the business and be able to clearly share your knowledge and technical information to support business decisions. You will also love the detail and bring with you experience of research related to Polymer Science, Material Science or Composite Engineering.
Some of your key responsibilities:
- Management and execution of short- and long-term test programmes, as per the plan of the Measurement Science Group team.
- Support in the evaluation of new products developed for new and existing applications, aiming to bring them to market swiftly and effectively.
- Ensure good communication and appropriate involvement with other Research & Development and commercial teams.
- Provide technical support and assistance to resolve production and quality issues, in addition to participating and or leading global cross-functional technology teams as and when required.
- Develop new and improve existing test methods and procedures with aim to optimise our testing capabilities.
- Liaise with customers, suppliers, trade associations etc., to help maintain knowledge and understanding of the field in addition to representing the company from a technical standpoint.
What do I need to be successful in this role?
- Research experience related to Polymer Science, Material Science or Composite Engineering
- Strong communication skills
- An ability to interpret and analyse data and produce clear concise reports for use across the company.
- An accurate and methodical approach
- Excellent attention to detail
- A degree or equivalent qualification that has incorporated aspects of Polymer Science, Material Science, Composite Engineering, or a related subject.
- You may also have experience from an R&D environment.
