Job Description
As our new Chemist, you’ll be an integral member of the 3D Printing team driving the development of 3D printing technology within the company.
You’ll be our go to expert for all things 3D printing, providing support for new business development on short-, medium- and long-term projects.
We aren’t just looking for a senior chemist/engineer, we are after a real role model. An individual that can develop our team members, pushing them to new heights.
Some of your key responsibilities:
- You’ll drive the development of new products, from early-stage formulation and process design, through scale-up and technology transfer to the pilot plant, and ultimately to full-scale commercial manufacture.
- You’ll work with the business development team to discover and define opportunities for 3D printing.
- You will follow all safety procedures and regulatory requirements, maintaining high standards of Responsible Care and housekeeping across the site.
- You’ll collaborate with product stewardship and supply chain functions to ensure that all raw materials and final formulations are available and compliant in the regions we intend to manufacture, transport and sell.
- You will attend appropriate scientific conferences, tradeshows and other external events, and to represent the company technically via posters and oral presentations as and when required.
- You’ll provide technical support services to our customers.
What do I need to be successful in this role?
- Degree in Chemistry or Materials Science or Significant demonstrable experience in the additive manufacturing printing processes, synthesis, formulation, characterisation and scale up of organic polymers or products.
- You hold at least 3 years’ experience in an R&D or technical role in polymer chemistry.
- You’ve got strong awareness and understanding of Industrial Regulatory Obligations.
- Experience in 3D Printing (SLA, DLP, LCD): designing, setting, printing, troubleshooting.
- We’d love you to hold effective team-working and interpersonal skills, with evidence of some involvement in cross-functional teams.
