Space To Stay is our seasonal summer lets operation based at Space St Andrews, welcoming guests from across the UK and beyond during the summer period. From short stays and group bookings to festival visitors and holidaymakers, we deliver a smooth, friendly, and memorable guest experience in a vibrant and fast-paced environment. Launching in March 2026, this is an exciting opportunity to join a brand-new team and play a key role in supporting a high-energy summer hospitality operation.

The Role

We are recruiting a number of Summer Receptionists to support our front-of-house operation throughout the summer season. This is a guest-facing role where you will be responsible for delivering excellent customer service, managing arrivals and departures, handling guest queries, and ensuring the reception area runs smoothly at all times. You will be the first point of contact for our guests, helping create a warm welcome and a professional first impression. We have multiple positions available, offering flexible working patterns ranging from 20 hours per week up to full time, depending on your availability and the needs of the business.

  • Vacancy 1: Full time Tuesday - Saturday 1pm - 9pm
  • Vacancy 2: Full time Wednesday - Sunday 1pm - 9pm
  • Vacancy 3: Part time Monday - Friday - 8am - 1pm (25 Hours)
  • Vacancy 4: Part time Saturday & Sunday 8am - 1pm, Monday 1pm - 9pm. (18 hours)

Key Responsibilities

  • Guest Service and Front Desk Support
    • Deliver a warm, professional welcome to all guests and visitors.
    • Manage guest check-ins and check-outs efficiently and accurately.
    • Respond to guest enquiries in person, by phone, and by email.
    • Provide local knowledge and support guests with directions, recommendations, and general assistance.
    • Handle guest concerns confidently, escalating issues when required and supporting service recovery.
  • Reception Operations
    • Maintain an organised, clean, and professional reception environment.
    • Support the management of guest keys, access fobs, and room allocation information.
    • Assist with guest communications, including arrival instructions and property information.
    • Support bookings, extensions, and group check-in processes where required.
    • Ensure all guest data is recorded accurately and in line with GDPR requirements.
  • Administration and Reporting
    • Complete daily reception tasks, including shift handovers and log updates.
    • Support accurate record keeping of incidents, maintenance issues, and guest feedback.
    • Process payments and ensure all transactions are handled securely.
    • Liaise with housekeeping and maintenance teams to support smooth turnaround and guest readiness.
  • Teamwork and Collaboration
    • Work closely with housekeeping, operations, and management teams to ensure a seamless guest experience.
    • Support peak arrival days and high-volume periods, including weekends and group bookings.
    • Act as a positive team member, supporting colleagues and maintaining a helpful, professional attitude.

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous customer service experience, ideally in hospitality, hotels, student accommodation, or a front desk environment.
  • Confident communication skills with a friendly and professional manner.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask.
  • Calm under pressure, especially during busy check-in periods.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to support across the wider operation when needed.
  • Good IT skills and confidence using booking or CRM systems (training will be provided).
  • Flexibility to work a rota including evenings, weekends, and peak seasonal dates.
