About Space To Stay
Space To Stay is our seasonal summer lets operation based at Space St Andrews, welcoming guests from across the UK and beyond during the summer period. From short stays and holiday visitors to group bookings and event guests, we deliver a clean, comfortable, and welcoming experience in a fast-paced environment. Launching in March 2026, this is an exciting opportunity to join a brand-new operation from the start, supporting the delivery of high standards across bedrooms and communal areas throughout the summer season.
The Role
We are recruiting multiple Summer Housekeepers to support our housekeeping operation during our busiest months. This is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for maintaining excellent cleanliness standards across guest rooms and shared spaces, ensuring every guest arrives to a room that is spotless, well presented, and ready for their stay. We offer flexible working patterns, with contracts ranging from a minimum commitment of 12 hours per week across 2 shifts, up to full time hours depending on your availability and operational needs. Fixed term contract from March 2026 to end of September 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Cleaning and Room Preparation: Clean guest bedrooms to a high standard, including bathrooms, kitchens (where applicable), and living areas. Change bed linen, replenish towels, and restock guest amenities as required. Ensure rooms are consistently presented to a guest-ready standard. Support high-volume turnaround days, ensuring deadlines are met.
- Communal Area Standards: Clean and maintain communal areas including corridors, stairwells, lounges, and shared facilities. Ensure public areas remain tidy, hygienic, and welcoming throughout the day. Support periodic deep cleaning tasks as required.
- Reporting and Maintenance Support: Report any damages, maintenance issues, or safety concerns promptly to the supervisor or management team. Identify and report missing items or room defects to support smooth guest check-in. Follow procedures for lost property, safe storage, and reporting.
- Health, Safety and Compliance: Follow health and safety procedures at all times, including safe handling of chemicals and equipment. Use cleaning products in line with COSHH guidelines and training provided. Ensure cleaning equipment is used correctly and stored safely.
- Teamwork: Work closely with the housekeeping and reception teams to support smooth daily operations. Maintain a professional and positive attitude, supporting colleagues during busy periods. Take pride in delivering consistent results and high standards.
What Weβre Looking For
- Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience is desirable, but not essential (training will be provided).
- Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining cleanliness standards.
- Reliable, hardworking, and able to work efficiently to deadlines.
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a wider team.
- Physically able to carry out cleaning duties, including lifting linen and moving equipment.
- Flexible availability, including weekends and peak summer periods.
