Hotel Night Porter
The Role
As a Hotel Night Porter, you will play an important role in ensuring the smooth running of the hotel overnight, providing excellent guest service while maintaining the cleanliness, safety and security of the property.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing a warm, friendly, and professional welcome to all guests throughout the night.
- Assisting with late check-ins and early check-outs, ensuring the process is handled efficiently and with minimal disruption
- Responding promptly to guest requests and enquiries, providing information about the hotel, its facilities and the local area
- Carrying out regular security and safety walk-rounds throughout the hotel, checking public areas, corridors, access points and other designated areas, and reporting any concerns or incidents
- Maintaining the cleanliness, tidiness, and presentation of the hotel's public areas throughout the night
- Assisting guests with luggage, deliveries and other reasonable requests as required
- Supporting room service operations when needed
The Person
The ideal candidate will:
- Have a friendly, approachable, and professional manner, with a genuine passion for guest service
- Have a positive, flexible, and hands-on approach, with a willingness to assist wherever needed
- Be comfortable working independently during quieter periods while knowing when to seek support or elevate an issue
- Have good communication skills and the ability to deal with guest requests calmly and efficiently
- Be organised, observant and attentive to detail, when carrying out security checks and maintaining cleanliness standards
- Be available to work night shifts, including weekends and bank holidays, as required
- Have previous hotel or hospitality experience, which would be an advantage but is not essential
