Minibus Driver

SPACE Student Accommodation is seeking two part‑time Shuttle Bus Drivers with a full PSV licence to join the team in St Andrews.

The Role

As the sole employee, you will operate the shuttle bus service, providing safe, reliable, and friendly transportation for our student residents.

This position is ideal for a customer‑focused individual who enjoys working independently and is committed to ensuring the comfort and safety of our students.

You will work on a shift basis to cover mornings and afternoons.

Responsibilities

• Operate the shuttle bus on a set route, ensuring timely pick‑up and drop‑off of students at various locations within St Andrews.
• Maintain a high standard of customer service, assisting students with inquiries and providing a welcoming atmosphere.
• Verify that passengers are students.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections to ensure the shuttle bus is in safe operating condition.
• Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations, ensuring the safety of all passengers.
• Keep accurate records of trips, mileage, and fuel usage.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the shuttle bus, reporting any maintenance or repair needs promptly.
• Communicate effectively with the SPACE Student Accommodation team regarding schedules, route changes, and any incidents.
• Handle emergencies or issues that arise calmly and efficiently.
• Assist with occasional special trips or events as required.
• The Person
• Must have a valid full PSV driving licence held for a minimum of two years.
• Must be 25+ years old for insurance purposes.
• Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not required.
• Strong knowledge of St Andrews and surrounding areas.
• Clean driving record with a commitment to safe driving practices.
• Outstanding customer service skills and positive interaction with students.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to handle unexpected situations calmly and effectively.
