About the Role
We're looking for a commercially minded finance professional to play a key senior role within our Commercial Finance team. This is a high-impact position supporting our Student Accommodation Division – one of the group's key growth areas. You'll partner closely with the Operations Director and wider team to drive performance, provide insight, and influence strategic decision-making. If you enjoy working at the heart of a business, translating numbers into meaningful action, and shaping commercial outcomes, this role offers real scope and visibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a senior member of the Commercial Finance team, supporting the Student Accommodation Division.
- Partner with the Operations Director and team to drive financial performance and achieve business targets.
- Lead the delivery and ownership of period-end reporting, including presentation to senior stakeholders.
- Produce and manage budgets and forecasts, ensuring a robust bottom-up approach with clear accountability.
- Deliver insightful financial analysis, including KPIs and concise performance summaries.
- Respond to financial queries and provide ongoing support to operational teams.
- Develop and enhance reporting, processes, and commercial performance insights.
- Provide analysis to support strategic and operational decision-making.
- Identify and implement process improvements across the division.
- Manage multiple workstreams and priorities to meet deadlines.
- Support wider business initiatives, including system and process improvements.
- Influence stakeholders to adopt a commercially focused mindset.
- Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge through continuous learning.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in Commercial Finance or Finance Business Partnering roles.
- Background at Finance Manager, Management Accountant, or equivalent level.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge with excellent attention to detail.
- Advanced financial modelling and analysis skills, particularly in Excel.
- Confident communicator, able to present financial information to non-finance audiences.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Experience contributing to or leading business change initiatives.
- Ability to build credibility and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Professionally qualified (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with a strong academic background.
- Collaborative mindset with a proactive, 'right first time' approach.
- Demonstrable experience partnering with senior management.
