Scotsdales Garden Centre in Great Shelford are seeking a part-time Assistant to join their weekend horticulture team. The successful candidate should be physically fit as this is a hands-on role. Some retail experience would be preferred but it is more important that you are friendly, hardworking, enjoy the outdoors (in all weathers) and everything plants! You should have a general interest in houseplants and gardening in general and basic plant knowledge is essential to the role.
Main Duties
- Plant maintenance and care
- Plant watering
- Dealing with plant deliveries
- Helping customers with their purchases including giving advice
- Pricing, displaying & merchandising a variety of products
- Replenishing stock
- Providing quality customer service
- General daily housekeeping
Requirements of the Role
- Must be able to follow instructions and able to work in greenhouses and outdoors in all weathers
- Good communication skills and able to work as part of a team
- Work well under pressure
- Professionalism and reliability
- Good time management
- Highly motivated and enthusiastic with a drive to succeed
- Able to work using own initiative
