We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Driver / Driver’s Mate to join our team. This is a hands-on role involving the safe and efficient delivery of goods directly to customers, as well as supporting the loading and upkeep of company vehicles. The role requires a practical individual who takes pride in delivering excellent customer service and representing the business professionally while out on the road. You will be responsible not only for driving but also for assisting with loading, unloading and maintaining the vehicle to a high standard.

Main Duties

  • Driving company vehicles (7.5 tonne) to deliver goods safely and efficiently
  • Loading and unloading vans, ensuring items are secured correctly
  • Assisting as a Driver’s Mate when required
  • Delivering goods directly to customers in a professional and courteous manner
  • Carrying out daily vehicle checks and reporting any defects promptly
  • Maintaining the cleanliness and general upkeep of the vehicle
  • Ensuring delivery paperwork is completed accurately
  • Adhering to all road safety regulations and company procedures
  • Supporting warehouse or yard duties when not out on delivery

Capabilities & Requirements

  • Applicants must be aged 24 years or over due to insurance requirements
  • Previous delivery driving experience is desirable
  • Good level of physical fitness (role involves manual handling and heavy lifting)
  • Strong sense of responsibility and reliability
  • Professional and friendly manner with customers
  • Good time management skills and ability to work to delivery schedules
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Position Type: Temporary to July

Schedule: Monday to Friday 8am – 4pm

Experience: Previous experience in delivery driving preferred

Pay: £12.75 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
