Not your average role… As part of our team at Eastfield Depot, you’ll work alongside the Depot Operator Team Leader and your colleagues to keep Scot Rail trains running safely and reliably.

As a key member of the depot team, you will be responsible for rail vehicle movement, driving and shunting, as well as the servicing and repair of diesel multiple units, all carried out in line with our safety and quality procedures and SOM 200.

As part of this role, you will also carry out yard-coordinator duties, taking charge of coordinating all vehicle movements within the depot.

What you bring * We are looking for a highly motivated individual who is a team player, enjoys collaborating with others, and has a flexible outlook. * Willing to learn new skills to support both the team and the organisation, and able to adapt quickly to new processes and ways of working.

Essential: * Experience of working in an engineering environment. * Willingness to learn shunting and driving procedures.

Desirable: * Formal engineering or shunting qualifications. * Ability to drive a road motor vehicle.

Hours of work: Average 35-hour week.

This post operates on a rotating three-shift cycle, covering day, back and nightshifts with weekend working being compulsory.

Reference

Salary: £50,907 per annum on completion of training, training salary £49,294 per annum.

Selection Process Shortlisted candidates will be invited to complete safety critical/driver assessment.

Successful candidates will then be invited to attend a competency-based interview.

Offers are subject to successful completion of a safety-critical medical.
