Position Overview: The main function of the role is to provide an effective and quality maintenance service to our existing and growing customer base. This dynamic role requires a balance of both dedicated desk duties and active field work, delivering 1st, 2nd, and 3rd line technical support across a diverse range of communications and networking infrastructure. Incorporated into this role is also assisting with installations of wiring and complete systems, affecting customers' moves, adds and changes and designing solutions around customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, commission, and train end users on telephony platforms, with a primary focus on iPECS Cloud telephony and on-premises PBX systems.
  • Deploy and configure 4G and 5G mobile data solutions, including the installation of cellular routers (such as Teltonika) to serve as the main connectivity source for client sites.
  • Design, install, and troubleshoot enterprise Wi‑Fi systems, specifically utilising Ubiquiti UniFi and TP‑Link Omada hardware.
  • Conduct the physical installation and neat cable management of on‑site comms cabinets.
  • Configure and support Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions, such as Miradore, to secure and manage client mobile fleets.
  • Fault‑find on unified communications systems and conduct repairs both remotely and at customer premises in line with our Service Level Agreements.
  • Install, troubleshoot and repair CAT5/CAT6 structured wiring networks.
  • Conduct site surveys for unified communication systems, networking hardware, and cabling requirements.
  • Plan, design and implement system applications such as voicemail, auto‑attendant, IVR, Call Recording, and Call Management.
  • Provide in‑house testing of faulty components and ensure maintenance stock levels are maintained and recorded.
  • Produce relevant reports and statistics to ensure SLAs are met.
  • Work closely with the Project Co‑Ordinator and use ClickUp software daily for all project work.

Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent customer‑facing communication skills.
  • Proven experience in configuring, deploying, and maintaining iPECS (Cloud and On‑Prem), Ubiquiti UniFi, and TP‑Link Omada systems.
  • Fault diagnosis of PSTN, ISDN, SIP lines, and 4G/5G data connections, and liaising with Service Providers.
  • Working to a high standard with an excellent customer service ethos.
  • Willingness to travel when required to fulfil the field‑based requirements of the role.
  • An interest in the evolving IT and telecommunications industry.
  • Pursue personal development of skills and knowledge necessary for the effective performance of the role.
  • Maintain regular, consistent and professional attendance, punctuality and personal appearance.
  • Work as part of a team in a small company environment.
  • Must hold a current Driving License.

  • Job Type: Full‑time
  • Pay starting from £29,000 depending on experience
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday 8:30 am – 5 pm
  • Work Location: Hybrid role based in Livingston, EH54 7DE, with extensive field work across Central Scotland. Time in the office is also required to handle support tickets and restock the company van.
  • Company van Provided: Fully provisioned and maintained vehicle for your field service, installation duties, and commuting to client sites.
  • Company Laptop: High‑spec laptop provided for remote support, configuring network topologies (UniFi/Omada), and daily project management.
  • Company Mobile Phone: Smart device provided for seamless client communication, on‑site testing, and team collaboration.
  • Holidays: 29 days per year
  • Ability to commute/relocate: Livingston, EH54 7DE: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
