About The Team: SRUC (Scotland's Rural College) is a widely respected higher education institute dedicated to producing specialist research, delivering high quality education and providing comprehensive consultancy services in the rural sector within the UK and beyond. The newly formed School of Natural and Social Sciences has a vision to be a globally recognised leader in innovative, multidisciplinary research and education, integrating natural and social sciences to overcome barriers to change and foster innovation. This post sits within the Agricultural Systems section, our largest section comprised of around 80 FTEs across three campuses focused on the delivery of agricultural and engineering research and teaching. The School has a growing cohort of international students and is developing a portfolio of education with transnational partners.

The Opportunity: The successful candidate will be based at SRUC's Kings Building Campus in Edinburgh as part of the Agricultural Systems Section. They will be required to deliver teaching around the field of agricultural technology with a specialism in mechanisation. Responsibilities include preparing and delivering programmes of education, training and assessment, with modules focusing on Agricultural Machinery, Buildings and Technology. The successful candidate will also be expected to develop or extend their research profile in a field relevant to agricultural technology. SRUC has a strong reputation in agricultural technology application, particularly around the areas of greenhouse gas mitigation and rollout of sensing technologies.

Minimum Qualifications: Candidates must hold a minimum of a Masters degree in a relevant discipline, with a strong component of agricultural technology application.

Eligibility for Sponsorship: This role is not eligible for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route. If you are a migrant worker, you will need to ensure you have an appropriate visa to evidence the necessary right to work in the UK.
