About The Team: School of Veterinary Medicine and Biosciences

The first new School of Veterinary Medicine in Scotland for 150 years. Our vision for the SRUC School of Veterinary and Biosciences is to provide a sustainable, resilient foundation for clinical excellence to support the animals and communities at the heart of Scotland's Natural Economy.

The Opportunity: We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join our team and contribute to excellence in teaching and research within the School of Veterinary Medicine and Biosciences. In this role, you will play a key part in delivering high-quality teaching on the BVSci programme and allied health programmes. We are particularly interested in candidates with extensive knowledge of physiology to support early-stage veterinary science education through lectures, tutorials, workshops, and practical classes.

Your expertise should span several areas of animal physiology, including:

  • Cell biology
  • Physiological functions and processes of body systems across a range of species
  • Clinically relevant applications that integrate with anatomy, pathology, and pharmacology

As a member of our wider veterinary medicine teaching and research team, you will:

  • Develop and deliver engaging, high-quality teaching
  • Produce impactful scholarly outputs
  • Engage with stakeholders and the wider sector, evidenced through publications and other contributions

The successful candidate will be based at SRUC's Aberdeen Campus. We are looking to appoint either a Lecturer, Senior Lecturer or Veterinary Lecturer, depending on your qualifications, experience and skills. Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must hold a degree at SCQF Level 11 or above in a relevant discipline, such as veterinary medicine, veterinary biosciences, animal sciences, agriculture, or a related life science. Please note: Appointment at the level of Veterinary Lecturer requires possession of a veterinary degree and membership of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS).
