Contributes to the overall success of the FP&A department covering the European and APAC regions ensuring specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensure all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Responsible for providing planning, forecasting and management reporting support to the European and APAC business leads. Key responsibilities include coordination of annual expense plans (including allocations from Head Office functions), periodic forecasts, performance reporting and analysis to assist management decision making.

Accountabilities
  • Business Partnering & Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary finance partner to European business and Corporate Function heads on all cost-related matters. Build strong relationships across business lines, support functions, and Head Office finance teams. Lead preparation and refinement of expense plans, forecasts, and forward-looking analysis. Identify risks and opportunities, providing clear and actionable insights. Coordinate quarterly and annual expense planning across Front Office and Support functions.
  • Management Reporting & Insight: Deliver monthly cost reporting (UK and Ireland) with clear commentary. Enhance reporting frameworks and support continuous improvement of planning processes. Lead month-end cost reviews and recommend corrective actions where required. Promote cost discipline, identifying savings opportunities and supporting MI. Review and approve accruals and prepayments for the region.
  • Intercompany & Allocation Management: Own TSA/SLA processes including calculation, journals, settlement, and matrix maintenance. Monitor TSA charges for RPS and tax reporting. Understand global vs local reporting impacts including Head Office allocations.
  • Controls, Governance & Compliance: Ensure compliance with policies, regulatory requirements, and risk frameworks. Maintain documentation and complete UK MIS balance sheet attestations.
  • Process Improvement & Automation: Drive improvements in processes, controls, and Excel tools aligned to EUC standards. Support MIS enhancements and project work.
  • Operational Support & Team Contribution: Respond to business and Head Office queries in a timely and high-quality manner. Provide team coverage and support a high-performance, inclusive culture aligned to the Bank’s values.

Education / Experience:

  • Qualified Accountant or comparable experience
  • Knowledge of the Bank’s financial reporting systems such as EGL, OBI and Hyperion strongly desired
  • Excellent analytical skills and excel skills including financial modelling
  • Strong communication skills and proven ability to provide insightful analysis to Senior Management
  • A demonstrated ability to work in a team environment under tight deadlines, in some cases on special projects and tasks requiring creative analysis and solutions
