Overview
In this role you lead Security Settlement and Asset Servicing within Scotiabank’s Global Wholesale Operations in London, supporting fixed income, equities, FX and treasury markets. You drive operational excellence, risk management and strategic change across global settlements and asset servicing. You will partner with Front Office, Technology, Risk and Operations to ensure smooth execution of high-value transactions and robust controls. This is a chance to shape efficient, compliant cross-border post-trade processes while leading a high-performing team.
Responsibilities
- Lead Security Settlement & Asset Servicing operations in London
- Oversee settlement, cash funding, margining, collateral management, reconciliations and asset servicing activities
- Act as senior escalation point for complex operational and settlement issues
- Drive process improvement, efficiency initiatives and operational resilience
- Lead strategic projects, new business initiatives and system enhancements
- Build relationships with trading desks, market infrastructures, custodians and clearing houses
- Ensure robust risk and control environment aligned to regulatory and governance requirements
- Inspire, develop and lead a high-performing, inclusive team
Key requirements
- Extensive experience in Markets Operations, Securities Settlement, Asset Servicing or Post-Trade Operations
- Strong knowledge of global securities, cash, FX and collateral markets
- Proven leadership experience managing large, complex operational teams
- Track record of transformation, automation and process improvement
- Strong stakeholder management with ability to influence at senior executive level
- Excellent judgement, commercial awareness and problem-solving capability
