Join a purpose driven winning team, committed to results, in an inclusive and high-performing culture. Scotiabank's Financial Institutions & Sponsors (FIS) team is looking for an experienced banking professional to join our London office as an Associate Director. This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex, high-profile transactions across a diverse portfolio of non-bank financial institutions, including asset managers, insurers, regulated funds, and private capital sponsors.

You will play a leading role in structuring and executing transactions, managing strategic client relationships, and helping drive the continued growth of one of the Bank's key European platforms. Unlike larger institutions where responsibilities can be heavily siloed, you will gain broad exposure across deal execution, portfolio management, client interaction, and cross-border collaboration, working directly alongside senior decision-makers and clients.

What you will be doing:

  • Managing an active portfolio of Financial Institutions clients, monitoring performance, identifying opportunities and supporting strategic relationship development.
  • Leading the execution process of lending transactions from origination through to closing, including revolving credit facilities, term loans, subscription finance facilities and other structured solutions.
  • Coordinating with the structuring of derivative and other bespoke products.
  • Engaging directly with senior client stakeholders including CFOs, CEOs, Fund Directors and investors.
  • Liaising with other key external partners including legal counsels as part of the origination and document negotiation process.
  • Preparing and presenting credit recommendations to senior management, risk partners and business and credit committees.
  • Partnering closely with teams across Corporate Banking, Global Banking & Markets, Risk, Legal and Operations.
  • Supporting business development activities, industry conferences and client marketing initiatives across Europe.
  • Providing guidance and mentorship to junior team members as you continue to develop your leadership capabilities.

What we're looking for:

  • Experience within Corporate Banking, Financial Institutions, Sponsor Finance or a related credit-focused role.
  • Strong credit analysis and transaction execution experience with the ability to lead deals independently.
  • Knowledge of sectors such as Insurance, Asset Management, Funds, Private Capital or Subscription Finance would be highly valued.
  • Proven ability to build relationships with both internal stakeholders and external clients.
  • Strong analytical, communication and presentation skills.
  • A proactive, collaborative mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Why Scotiabank?

  • At Scotiabank, you will join a high-performing team that combines the capabilities of a global bank with the agility and visibility of a more entrepreneurial platform.
  • Significant responsibility and ownership from day one.
  • Direct access to senior leadership and clients.
  • Exposure to complex, international transactions.
  • Close collaboration across London, Dublin and global teams.
  • Opportunity to broaden your product knowledge across lending, capital markets and risk solutions.
  • A supportive, inclusive culture focused on development and progression.
  • The chance to make a visible impact within a growing European business.
