Purpose
Contributes to the overall success of the Prime Services business in region and globally, ensuring specific individual goals, plans and initiatives are executed and delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives.
Accountabilities
- Member of the regional hedge fund coverage team (synthetic & cash), ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed and delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, risk limits, and procedures.
- Understands how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Client management in relation to pricing, trading, corporate actions/hedging, risk, spread and dividend management working in partnership with key stakeholders including credit, risk management, product control, tax, senior management, and operations.
- Drives a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
- Pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

- Ability to hit client and revenue targets while managing risks within authorized limits and tax guidelines.
- Meaningful, returns focused, revenue generation through client facilitation, inventory management, collateral, funding and liquidity efficiencies.
- Promote a proactive client facing, data-driven, collaborative, and global approach.
- Regional product responsibility for trading, dividend exposure, corporate action and regulatory compliance.
- Promote Scotiabank throughout the securities finance market and position Scotiabank for long-term opportunities and growth; build and maintain focused relationships in conjunction with key stakeholders, other business lines, and regions.
- Actively cross sell within Prime Services and other areas of the bank; liaising with relationship managers to improve the profitability of existing relationships.
- Communicate and work effectively with management at all levels within GBM and with relevant support groups; TFRM, Treasury, GWO and across GBM business units.
Education / Experience
- Regional qualifications and certifications for trading and supervisory (PRA/FCA/FINRA/FRB/OSFI etc).
- Strong understanding of macro and micro market demand factors.
- Experience in client facing equity cash and derivative trading.
- Strong Interpersonal/relationship skills.
- Degree / CFA or similar business qualification or equivalent work experience.
Working Conditions
- Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence.
- The position is in a pressurized and results driven environment.
- Client meetings can often be required outside of working hours.
- Limited/moderate travel domestically and internationally.
