Position Overview: As Associate Director, you will lead and execute on a broad range of transactions as well as be responsible for coaching and developing our Analyst and Associates. You will contribute to the overall success of the team ensuring specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed/delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives.
What You'll Do:
- Champion a client centric culture focused on deepening client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge to deliver solutions that Scotiabank can provide across its footprint and generate revenue.
- Actively support the Managing Directors and Directors on live mandates for key clients with a focus on ensuring strong execution as well as on origination efforts to deliver multi-product pitches and offerings.
- Execute complex transactions with limited senior management oversight with respect to the day-to-day execution of the mandate.
- Create and maintain effective presentations and pitching materials.
- Lead the construction and audit of detailed Excel financial models including DCFs, LBOs and merger models and analysis such as market comparisons, company valuations and asset valuations.
- Lead juniors in managing all workflow for origination or execution, including delegations of work appropriately to ensure completion of the work is efficient.
What You'll Bring:
- MBA degree with finance specialty or Undergraduate degree with finance specialty (we are also looking for relevant industry experience where applicable).
- Previous Upstream Energy Investment Banking experience strongly preferred.
- Detailed financial valuation modelling experience (DCF, Merger and LBO).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Superior organization skills.
- Extensive knowledge and expertise working with Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
