We are looking for Recycling Pickers for a client with premises in Perthshire. As a Recycling Picker, you will play a crucial role in the recycling process by sorting and separating recyclable materials from waste. Your primary responsibility will be to efficiently and accurately pick out recyclable items from conveyor belts or sorting areas and prepare them for further processing. Your contribution will directly impact the company's efforts to reduce waste and promote environmental sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Material Sorting: Sort through incoming waste materials on conveyor belts or in sorting areas to identify and separate recyclable items such as plastics, glass, paper, cardboard, and metals. Ensure that non-recyclable items are properly disposed of according to company guidelines and regulations.
- Quality Control: Conduct visual inspections to ensure the quality and purity of recyclable materials. Remove contaminants or items that do not meet quality standards to maintain the integrity of the recycling process.
- Equipment Operation: Operate machinery and equipment such as conveyor belts, sorting machines, and forklifts safely and efficiently. Follow proper operating procedures and safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Workspace Maintenance: Keep work areas clean and organized to facilitate smooth workflow and minimize safety hazards. Dispose of waste materials properly and maintain cleanliness in the recycling facility.
- Team Collaboration: Work cooperatively with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and targets. Communicate effectively with colleagues to ensure a smooth flow of materials and information throughout the recycling process.
