The SPP will guide people strategy, employee relations, trade union relationships and talent management, building strong relationships to support business goals.Reporting into the Operations People Director, this role also involves supporting HR improvements and shaping the future direction of the People team during its transformation.We deliver safety, warmth, and comfort to homes and businesses across the community. Whether you're supporting from the office or working on the front line, every role plays a part.Partner with senior leaders to deliver workforce planning, talent, engagement, and people strategies aligned to business objectivesUse people data and insights to support decision-making, drive performance, and identify opportunities for improvementLead talent, succession, and leadership development initiatives to build diverse and future-ready teamsProvide expert guidance on complex employee relations matters, coaching managers to achieve positive and fair outcomesSupport organisational change, restructuring, and workforce transition programmes, ensuring an inclusive and people-focused approachDrive continuous improvement across People processes, systems, and projects to enhance the employee experienceWhat you’ll needCIPD Level 7 qualification, or equivalent professional experience in a senior HR/People partnering roleStrong experience influencing senior stakeholders and developing leadership capability across a range of management levelsIn-depth knowledge of employment law, employee relations, HR best practice, and operational people managementProven experience in talent management, succession planning, workforce planning, and organisational changeAbility to build trusted relationships with Trade Union representatives and other key stakeholdersCommercially minded, analytical, and adaptable, with a proactive approach to solving problems and driving positive changeThis role will require travel and overnight stays to meet business needs, with occasional travel to our Southern England sitesNot sure you meet every requirement?Research shows some people – particularly women and those from underrepresented backgrounds – may hesitate to apply unless they meet every criteria.
