Overview

In this role, you will lead commercial and contractual performance across SGN’s property, land, and estates contracts to ensure value for money and robust risk management. You will support acquisitions, disposals, leases, and related activities while coordinating with property consultants and service providers. Your work will help deliver successful project outcomes by partnering with legal, finance, and operations teams. This role is pivotal to maintaining safe, reliable energy delivery and shaping commercial strategies in a complex portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Manage commercial and contractual performance of property, land, construction and estates contracts with governance and risk control
  • Provide commercial support for property acquisitions, disposals, leases, easements, servitudes, land rights and construction activities
  • Build and manage relationships with property consultants, land agents, valuers, contractors, legal advisers and other service providers
  • Support procurement, mobilisation, supplier performance management and governance across property and construction contracts
  • Identify, manage and mitigate commercial, contractual and construction delivery risks across the property portfolio
  • Collaborate with Property, Legal, Finance, Operational Delivery teams to enable successful project delivery and commercial outcomes

Key requirements

  • Experience in commercial management, quantity surveying, contract management or similar role
  • Knowledge of property, land, infrastructure, construction, utilities or professional services contracts
  • Strong commercial, financial and risk management skills with ability to manage complex issues
  • Experience managing supplier and contractor performance and stakeholder relationships
  • Strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills to drive value-for-money outcomes
  • A relevant qualification such as CIPS, RICS, NEC accreditation, degree-level education or equivalent commercial experience is desirable
