This role ensures that EDI strategies, policies, training, data insights and employee network activity contribute to a fair, inclusive and high‑performing workplace. Working across all levels, from Executive to front line, you will deliver an effective EDI framework, with a focus on policy, training and data-driven improvements. This role acts as SGN’s EDI subject‑matter expert, supporting leaders, managers and colleagues to build inclusive behaviours and practices. You will also partner closely with our Employee Networks to drive effective change at all levels of the organisation.
Here’s how you will contribute…
- Lead the development, delivery and continuous improvement of SGN’s EDI strategy, policies and action plans, ensuring legal compliance and alignment to organisational priorities.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to leaders, managers and colleagues on inclusive culture, inclusive behaviours and good EDI practice.
- Identify organisation‑wide EDI learning needs and design/deliver interventions that build capability and confidence, including campaigns, workshops and resources.
- Use workforce data, insights, survey results and feedback from employee networks to identify trends, inform decision‑making and shape targeted initiatives.
- Build strong internal and external partnerships, including staff networks, EDI bodies, external benchmarking forums and sector groups, enhancing SGN’s reputation and best‑practice awareness.
What you will need
- You will have a relevant HR, OD, social sciences or EDI‑related qualification OR substantial experience in EDI delivery.
- A Coaching/mentoring qualification with a specialist EDI certification (e.g., unconscious bias, inclusive leadership) will be advantageous.
- You have significant experience designing and delivering EDI strategies, policies and initiatives within a similar industry.
- Excellent knowledge of EDI legislation, best practice, and organisational application.
- Experience conducting EDI data analysis, producing insights and reporting to senior leaders up to Executive level.
- Demonstrable ability to design and deliver learning interventions and capability‑building that drive behavioural change.
- Excellent stakeholder management, influencing and communication skills.
- Ability to manage external partners and networks, representing SGN in EDI forums.
Not sure you meet every requirement? Research shows some people – particularly women and those from underrepresented backgrounds – may hesitate to apply unless they meet every criteria. At SGN, we value diverse backgrounds, experiences and perspectives. If this role interests you but you’re not sure you tick every box, we’d still love to hear from you. You might be just who we’re looking for – now or in the future.
