Glasgow Full-Time On-site
Scot

Are you an experienced GP Receptionist looking for an opportunity to build on your existing skills, take on additional responsibilities and develop your knowledge of Practice administration?

We are looking for an organised, proactive and enthusiastic individual to join our friendly and supportive Practice team.

Reception will remain a key part of your role, but this is an opportunity to broaden your experience beyond traditional reception duties. Alongside providing an excellent service to patients, you will become involved in wider Practice administration, including medicines management administration, locum coordination and appointment book management.

About the role

Working as part of our reception rota, your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing appointments and the appointment book.
  • Processing prescription and home visit requests.
  • Responding to patient and healthcare professional enquiries.
  • Actioning requests from GPs and the wider clinical team.
  • Supporting medicines management administration.
  • Booking and coordinating locum cover.
  • Processing Subject Access Requests (SARs) in accordance with Practice procedures and information governance requirements.
  • Maintaining accurate and confidential patient records.
  • Helping ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the Practice.

This list is not exhaustive, and you may be asked to undertake other reasonable duties appropriate to the role, your skills and experience.

There will be opportunities to develop your knowledge, take ownership of agreed administrative processes and increase your responsibilities over time.

You will be joining a friendly and supportive team where your experience will be valued and your contribution will make a difference.

This varied role offers the opportunity to use your existing GP reception skills while developing new experience in Practice administration. We will support you in building your confidence, broadening your knowledge and taking on additional responsibilities as you grow in the role.

We recognise the importance of work-life balance and are happy to consider flexible working arrangements and fewer hours for the right candidate.

We anticipate a high level of interest and reserve the right to close the vacancy early. Early applications are therefore encouraged.
