Software Escrow Specialist / Technology Escrow SME
My client, a global bank based in London, is looking for a contract Technology Escrow SME. We’re seeking an experienced Escrow SME to lead a full review and enhancement of the bank’s software escrow arrangements. They need a Software Escrow Specialist to lead a strategic uplift of their Third Party Technology Escrow framework. This pivotal role will ensure escrow arrangements are robust, verifiable, release-ready, and fully compliant with global regulations, internal policies, and best practices, protecting the bank’s most critical third-party services.
Contract until end of November 2025 initially (likely to extend), paying up to £845 per day. Hybrid working, 2 days a month in the Sheffield office.
- Proven end-to-end software escrow management experience (agreements, deposits, verification, live execution).
- Strong knowledge of third-party risk, resilience frameworks, and relevant regulations (e.g. PRA SS1/21, DORA).
- Expertise in source code deposit & verification oversight.
- Hands-on analytical skills with the ability to turn complex inputs into actionable plans.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
Responsibilities
- Assess current escrow usage across the organisation, including coverage, deposit frequency, and validation levels.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define policy standards and guidance.
- Develop a source code escrow framework covering service criteria, deposits, build instructions, verification/testing, and contracting.
- Design an operating model with clear role-based escrow responsibilities.
- Establish records management, reporting, and governance best practices.
- Create remediation plans to address gaps in critical third-party escrow arrangements.
- Partner with legal, procurement, technology, and escrow agents to strengthen controls.
- Define governance processes to ensure compliance and manage exceptions.
