My Client is a Global consumer brand in London; they are looking for a contract Financial Accountant to join the UK Financial Controlling Team. The Financial Accountant will oversee the preparation of group and UK statutory financial statements, manage external audit coordination, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and deliver timely statutory reporting.

Based in London, 4 days a week in the office. 6 month contract. Rate is £400 per day (Inside IR35).

Key skills:
  • Professional Qualifications: ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent) with at least 3 years post-qualified experience; Big 4 background preferred.
  • Technical Accounting Expertise: Strong experience preparing or auditing financial statements with solid knowledge of accounting principles and regulations.
  • Analytical & Detail-Oriented: Excellent analytical skills with high levels of accuracy, organisation, and attention to detail.
  • Systems & Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities.
  • Communication & Delivery: Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and thrive under pressure.
Responsibilities:
  • Financial Reporting & Statutory Accounts: Lead the preparation of group consolidated and UK statutory financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
  • Audit & Compliance: Support and manage the annual external audit process, liaising with auditors and maintaining strong internal financial controls.
  • Month-End & Financial Analysis: Prepare and review monthly reporting, balance sheets, cashflows, reconciliations, and variance analysis for key stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as a key contact between finance teams, FP&A, tax advisors, and wider business stakeholders to support reporting and financial activities.
  • Projects & Continuous Improvement: Contribute to finance projects, system implementations, and process improvements while handling ad hoc analysis and queries.
