eDV Cleared Contract Software Engineer (All Tech Stacks) £600 - £850 per day Inside IR35 London / hybrid. Candidates MUST hold ACTIVE enhanced DV Clearance.

Scot Lewis is partnered with a number of world leading technology companies, consultancies and SMEs that operate within the UK Cyber, National Security & Intelligence sector, helping them grow their Software Engineering teams. We are seeking experienced eDV-cleared Contract Software Engineers to support highly secure, mission-critical programmes within government, defence, and national security environments. These roles require professionals who are comfortable working in sensitive settings and can contribute to the delivery of robust, secure, and scalable systems. This is a hybrid London-based position with a mix of remote working and secure on-site collaboration.

We are open to engineers from any technical background or tech stack, provided you have strong engineering fundamentals and experience operating in secure or classified environments.

What are we looking for?

  • Active eDV (Enhanced Developed Vetting) clearance – essential
  • Proven experience as a Software Engineer within secure/government/defence environments
  • Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, C#, Go, etc.)
  • Experience with modern frameworks, tools, and engineering best practices
  • Solid understanding of secure software development and system design
  • Familiarity with working in restricted or classified environments
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) in secure contexts is advantageous
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes)
